Rays Internship - 2022

One of my main responsibilities over the course of my internship was the production of concourse TV slates. The primary challenge I encountered was trying to strike the balance between effective design and the communication of information. As the season moved along, I began to feel more comfortable with a handful of templates that I created. Having several go-to templates expedited their production.
Getting the chance to work on the 2022 Rays Yearbook was a great learning experience. Not only was I able to explore the 2022 campaign look in a more fluid setting, but I also got to peel back the curtain and learn about the process behind getting a project such as this ready for print. Coordinating with PSP to get the art finalized for production was very enlightening.
One of the long-term projects I undertook during the course of my internship was the development of a campaign look for the Rays Player Development Social channels. Perhaps the biggest challenged I faced was creating a look that wasn't reliant on cutouts, since I was unsure of the photo quality I'd get from the lower levels of the minor leagues. Ultimately, I opted for a film look that used film frames and concepts to present the photos and information in such a way that I could overcome any possible issues with photo quality.
Creating social media graphics for main social channels was a unique opportunity. From templated birthday posts to last-minute requests and paid social ads, I operated under a wide range of requirements and specifications.
Occasionally, I produced ads for Inside Pitch, the Rays' game-day magazine. These print ads were generally promoting special events or promotions being run by the organization.
